2005
In 2005 Suzanne Vega resumed the acoustic
duo format with Mike Visceglia. Early in the year Suzanne
treated the fans with some of new songs, mainly "Edith
Wharton's Figurines" as well as the inclusion of the
song "Anniversary" in the set.
After a few shows in the US in the beginning of the year
(with Richard Gates replacing Mike Visceglia on a few occasions),
in March/April Suzanne played several concerts in Japan
and South Korea, which originated a live DVD.
In June Suzanne started a new European tour, adding to
the set songs like "Mr. B", and "Uncle Jimmy
Was A Cop". The opening act changed according to the
country, with Nerina Pallot performing in the UK gigs.
Back in the US, Suzanne started in mid July a series of
concerts co-headlined by Marc Cohn (and different opening
acts), which were abruptly cancelled when Marc was accidently
shot in the beginning of August.
Until the end of the year Suzanne played only on a couple
of shows (either with Mike Visceglia or Richard Gates).
Noticeable was the presence of her daughter Ruby Froom (on
backing vocals on some songs and cymbals on "Solitaire"),
and the guest presence of her former guitarist Gerry Leonard
on one October show, where Suzanne recovered the rarely
played live songs "My Favorite Plum" and "Song
Of Sand".
