Tour Index

1999
Suzanne Vega initiated 1999 with a series of public appearances in bookshops promoting her poetry compilation book "The Passionate Eye". Suzanne read some poems from the book, performed some songs, and answered questions from the audience. All these shows were performed in small places for small audiences, and Suzanne performed alone, with her guitar.

Following the Booksigning tour Suzanne performed both in the USA and Europe, promoting her compilation album: "Tried And True - The Best of Suzanne Vega", and accompanyed solely by her long time bassist Mike Visceglia.

The setlist followed mainly the album, with the old songs rearranged to be played acoustically, along with new song Rosemary. Keeping the promotion of her poems book, Suzanne continued reading poems on stage.
