Sue Evans studied with Warren Smith
and Sonny Igoe, and graduated from the High School of
Music and Art in 1969. She toured as a drummer with
Judy Collins from the late '60s until the mid-'70s,
while also touring and recording with Gil Evans from
1969 until 1982. During these years Evans worked with
Steve Kuhn and the Jazz Composer's Orchestra under Roswell
Rudd, Michael Franks, and Tony Bennett.
Apart from her work with Suzanne Vega, Sue Evans recorded
with Bobby Jones, George Benson, Urbie Green and Art
Farmer and Morgana King.
