Frank Christian started playing guitar at the age
of 13, when he took lessons from jazz guitarist Roosevelt
Span. Moving to Greenwich Village to study literature
and music at New York University, Christian became
involved in the local folk music scene. Released five
solo albums between 1982 and 1996, and his virtuouso
qualities can be heard also in different artists works.
Apart from featured in Suzanne Vega's two first albums,
Frank Christian's guitar playing can be heard in works
by Christine Lavin, The Smithreens, John Gorka, Nancy
Griffith, Dave van Ronk and Jack Hardy, among others.
